Her multi-faceted career began in Sheepshead Bay Brooklyn at the Learning Institute for Beauty Science also known as LIBS, 23 yrs ago. Lisa became an assistant while studying cosmetology which earned her a slot at the famed Afrigenix Salons in New York during the early nineties: a salon that was known for its high-profile clientele. During her tenure at Afrigenix Lisa became a head stylist and floor leader, whose job it was to teach and train other upcoming stylists. She was also on a team that worked with celebrities Maxwell, Brandy, Patra the Jamaican dancehall artist,
Teri McMillian, and Rita Marley.
Lisa further honed her skills with training courses at Aveda, and worked at one of their concept salons, and participated in an exchange stylist program in San Deigo California for one year. Following a professional path that has taken so many exciting turns, Lisa has also been afforded the opportunity to work on shoots for publishing power-house Conde'Nast, Brides magazine department, Lo'real Dark and Lovely campaign and she currently holds the title of hair editor for Black Health Matters.com, an online magazine for a healthier lifestyle, and is the owner of the BOX HAIR STUDIO.

Lisa's love of what she does and tireless devotion to helping both men and women achieve optimal hair health translates into her motto, "healthy hair is beautiful hair." You can also count on her to add the perfect touch of flavor to your hair care needs.
